Second Edition of KIDS

“Ann Demeulemeester Unveils Second Edition of KIDS: A Continued Celebration of Community and Creativity taking the house to New York [New York, 12/09/2024] - Following the success of the inaugural chapter, Ann Demeulemeester announces the release of the second edition of KIDS, the cultural project in the form of a visual diary curated by creative director Stefano Gallici. The focus of this new chapter is on the rich tapestry of underground art and culture in the city of New York. “‘Leaving was never my proud, Leaving New York never easy’ were the Michael Stipe lines looping while I was floating around the city documenting its underground net. It was my first time in New York: self-discovery and discovering new artists and friends come together in a flux, a natural and spontaneous process that spawns this second chapter of KIDS, a new celebration of community and creativity” says Stefano Gallici. Expanding on the foundation laid in London, Paris, and Berlin, the New York chapter of KIDS reaffirms Ann Demeulemeester’s aim at championing the creative spirit on a global scale. This edition brings together a new circle of makers and artists who embody the energy and diversity of New York’s thriving artistic community. Shot over one week in corners both iconic and hidden of the city, the project features musician Stella Rose Gahan, actor Quintessa Swindell, designer Jakob Hetzer, model Dakota Butler, and painter Hunter Amos. Each talent contributed their unique voice to the ongoing narrative, further stirring the coalescence of fashion, art, and culture that’s KIDS reason of being. Stefano Gallici counted on the eye of Jason Renaud, who has already shot multiple projects for the house, while he himself captured the raw and unfiltered essence of New York’s creative scene, revealing intimate moments of inspiration and collaboration. The result is an immersive visual exploration of the artists’ environments which gives viewers a glimpse into the heartbeat of the city.
The second edition of KIDS further pushes the boundaries of the fashion campaign, evolving into a powerful platform to explode talent while fostersing meaningful connections. With New York as its backdrop, the project underscores the house’s commitment to embracing diversity, nurturing creativity, and celebrating the collective power of artistic expression. It does so keeping an ever evolving and dynamic spirit that will be further explored and expanded in future instalments.”
